Agreement made between National payment card system (NSPK) and, Japan Credit Bureau (JCB), the largest Japan payment system will allow to make Russian credit card "Mir". Issued co-badged cards will allow the Russians to pay in travels abroad by credit cards without restraints.
"Mir"-JCB cards within Russia will be supported by NSPK system, and beyond its boundaries - by JCB infrastructure having very strong positions in Asian states. Such concept is advantageous for the Russians immediately entering world level as well as for the Japanese who will significantly reinforce their positions in the RF having challenged western payment systems.
Issuance of "Mir"-JCB cards is expected to be in 2016. Previously MasterCard and Visa concluded agreement with NSPK. The Russian banks working with named western systems joined to NSPK in May whereas National payment card system was launched this year on April, 1 as a whole.
In June there was information that only the Russian chips from "NIIME i Mikron" development company will soon be installed in the "Mir" cards that will protect financial system against external influence.
